In early 2016, while The Rockin’ Dead were deep into recording sessions, emerging writer George Belaouris approached the band with a proposal to write a song inspired by his upcoming novel LC DLVI. Several members of the band were already familiar with—and admirers of—his work, making the collaboration feel not only natural but inevitable. Without hesitation, both sides committed to the project.
The result was She Kicks & Rocks, a track directly inspired by the novel’s plot and central characters. Musically, the song emerged as a dark yet accessible rock piece with a seductive edge, mirroring the obsessive and destructive relationship between Andronikos Dourantis and Lenore Corpse. Passion and hatred intertwine in a relentless struggle for domination and control—an addictive, self-destructive bond that threatens to push the world itself toward collapse.
She Kicks & Rocks was included in the album Here Comes The Darkness and chosen as its first single, setting the tone for the record’s atmosphere and themes. The release was accompanied by a striking lyric video featuring official artwork from the novel, created by Lena Decay, the official designer of LC DLVI. Her distinctive visual interpretation brought the characters vividly to life, completing a powerful fusion of music, literature, and illustration—a true trinity of the arts.
Since then, She Kicks & Rocks has been used consistently across promotional videos and trailers for LC DLVI, which was officially published in September 2017, further cementing the creative bond between the band and the novel’s universe.
