Sometime in early 2017, The Rocking’ Dead met with writer Manolis Daloukas who at the time was writing his new book and was preparing an art & music side project that would be linked to it. Both sides were very keen to cooperate and so… after reading a draft version of the book, the song “Wild Horses Neigh” was written, the music and lyrics of which were inspired from “Matala – The story of Neferiana“!
The acoustic / stripped down version of “Wild Horses Neigh” was exclusively recorded for Manolis and his book. The recording took place in mid September 2017 at studio “Διαγωγή Κοσμία” with sound engineer Manolis Koutsakis.
About the book
“Matala” is a love story based on true events set in the 70’s and the flower children era, in Crete. It tells the story of Alexia, a young girl that runs away from home and becomes a hippie! The book is available in bookstores as of June 15th 2018!
About the Author
Manolis Daloukas is an esteemed journalist and an analyst of the Greek youth culture. He is a Surveying Engineer, graduate of the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a reporter since 1990.
He is the author of many books, his most notable work being the book entitled “Elliniko Ροκ” meaning “Greek Rock” that recounts the history of rock music in Greece during the period 1945 to 1990.
